Ramon y Cajal Fellowship at the CiTIUS Rearch Centre of the University of Santiago de Compostela.
I am a Ramón y Cajal fellowship at CiTIUS, and Head of the Research Group in Computational Linguistics (LComp) at USC. I have participated in more than 20 competitive projects and contracts, and collaborated in international research networks and industry projects.
During the last 10 years of my research career I have co-authored more than 80 peer-reviewed publications. I have been member of different scientific committees and review boards of international conferences and journals. I am the (co-)editor of the journal Linguamática, member of the standing committee of the SIGLEX-MWE (ACL), and member of the organizing committee of the several workshops and conferences, including HI4NLP (ECAI 2020), PROPOR 2022 and 2024, or MWE 2022/23/24.
I have been awarded four competitive postdoctoral grants (Juan de la Cierva-formación and incorporación, Ramón y Cajal, and Distinguished Researcher Award, declined). Previously, my PhD thesis got the USC Best PhD Award and the Best PhD Dissertation Award in Language Technology (PROPOR 2016). As a Principal Investigator, I have obtained several research projects including one HORIZON 2020, and several national and autonomical projects, as well as a Leonardo Grant (2.4% of acceptance). In sum, I raised more than €650,000 of individual competitive funds, and nearly €1M from research calls.
